Vegetables and Spirits. #drinking #startup #healthyliving

A good mixed drink is "all about balance." This article talks about not only using fruit juices, but also vegetable juices (and there are two recipes on the bottom!)

A short anecdote from the article:
[A man] stepped inside the bar with a big plastic cup of psychedlically green vegetable juice in hand and decisively ordered a shot of well vodka - and an empty pint glass. You can guess the rest.

The Dude Imbibes (as do others) #startup #drinking #celebrity #whiterussian

Learn about a few real and fictional style legends who's lives are punctuated by liquor, like James Bond, and First Lady Jackie Onassis in this article from The Cocktail Lovers.

My favorite little tidbit:
[Jackie Onassis] had an eye you see, indeed she had two and she famously covered them both in massive sunglasses. In the wardrobe department it was all about the ‘simple lines’ and ‘bold solids’ – which might be a drug reference, but actually refers to cut and colours.

Soju Is For Friends and Family @NYTmag #startup #soju #drinking #history #culture

My experiences with soju have always been pleasant - surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones.

My first sip of soju was with my father as he taught me the rules and etiquette of drinking our Motherland's alcoholic beverage of choice. I remember drinking soju with friends in high school, pouring each other shot after shot in Flushing, NY where speaking Korean was the only form of ID required. Some of my fondest memories were made drinking soju surrounded by friends, enjoying nightlife in Seoul, as a college student studying abroad. Author Rosie Schaap, clearly understands what soju means to Koreans.

My favorite part:
After more than three, I felt no sadness. Instead, a just-right fullness, from the food, the drink, the poems, the pleasure of a few companionable hours. It felt as close to being in a cabin in the mountains, after a hike, as I’ve ever felt at my kitchen table.

What's Your Brew? @TheAtlantic #startup #beer #drinking #history

Long gone are the days when Budweiser could claim to be the undisputed 'King of Beers', and seats on Coors Light's 'Silver Bullet' were sold out. With the craft beer industry booming, and the popularity of foreign beers on the rise, American beer drinking habits are changing, whether they know it or not.

My favorite part:
It's a world in which old standbys are faltering (case sales of Miller High Life were down almost 10 percent in 2013 from the prior year). Mexican labels are dominant (Corona, Modelo, and Dos Equis, account for three of the top four imported beers). And a craft-beer company founded only 20 years ago is coming on strong ("Bartender, pour me a Lagunitas").
