Who is Bloody Mary? How did this drink become immortalized as a brunch staple in the U.S.?  In this episode, The Drinking Press faces the mysterious Bloody Mary, the famed tomato juice and vodka based, cold beverage bosom buddied with brunch (alliteration FTW!).

Bec and Char dive into the murky origins of the Bloody Mary, its history, and a delicious and elegant recipe provided by the superb Jeffrey Pogash, author of the book "Bloody Mary."

Spiced Rum and Sperm Whales - The Drinking Press - Episode 4



In this episode, The Drinking Press takes on Rum, the traditional sugar cane liquor best associated with islands and pirates. Rum really came to prominence due to the sugar boom in the Caribbean, and the newfound cultural tastes in sweet beverages.

Bec and Char go over what exactly rum is, and the history behind it with the help of Jason Laan, co-founder of Sag Harbor Rum (featured in the photos).
